Beautiful Asian Red Floor Vases

Red Asian Floor Vase

Red Asian Floor Vase

We really like are large floor vases here at Vintage Vase, and this week we would like to start showcasing some of the great finds we’ve found around the Internet. For our first showcase we have a lovely, and very reasonably priced 28″ Cylinder Bamboo Floor Vase. These large Asian floor vases are sold by Shopping The Globe. Shopping the globe is a really great company that design and source beautiful home accent pieces that integrate art, culture, and distinctive style using natural, renewable resources. Their goal is to create elegant and stylish décor pieces and functional products for the home using materials that support our environment.

These elegant Asian floor vases are made from natural bamboo and are handcrafted by artisans who slice the bamboo pieces into thin strips which are then curved around a frame and formed into the shape of the vase. The large floor vases are then carefully sanded into a smooth surface, and stained in a beautiful red color. As you can see from the picture it has a highly lacquered finish, and looks great with tall twigs. The red floor vase measures 28 inches tall by 10 in. diameter at the center. The large floor vase looks great as both a contemporary piece, or along with other Asian decor.

The vase is pictured here with a matching square tray in the same color and finish which can be purchased separately. Many of shopping the globes products are exclusive signature lines unique to Shopping the Globe, and not available elsewhere. The majority of their products are handmade in boutique workshops by artisans who craft their products according to their designs and specifications. As these are hand crafted products, each individual piece may vary slightly in color and form.

How to Decorate With Flowers In Vase

Hydrangea with Black Vase Silk Flower ArrangementThere are many ways to decorate your vase, but by far the most popular is with flowers. Flowers in a vase add a natural and elegant ambiance to the space you are decorating. They are great for centerpieces, especially weddings, and add that extra touch you might be looking for. Any vase can look great with flowers, whether it’s large floor vases, hand blown glass vase, or antique vases, the sky’s the limit. So how do you go about arranging flowers in a vase? Well it really is up to your individual tastes but there are a couple of things you should think about to achieve the best impact.

1. You should figure out what type of flower you want to have in the vase, rose’s are always fantastic, but there are so many other beautiful and exotic flowers out there that look great in a vase. Carnations, ranunculus, and anemones are always fun, and just a few of the myriad of flowers you can use.

2. When you have found the perfect flowers for your vase you will want to make sure they last as long as possible. Make sure to trim any thorns off. Also remove leaves from the stem that will be submerged in water, this will add quite a bit to the life of the flower. If you have bought the flowers pre-cut always re-cut the stems, removing 1 to 2 inches at an angle under water. You can do this in a basin full of water, or even by holding the stem and the blades of the shears (or kitchen scissors) under running tap water.

3. Always make sure it is well cleaned before placing the flowers in vase.

4. Different types of vases look better with different types of flowers. For round vases it nice to have the flowers make a full and rounded affect, roses and carnations are great for this, any flower with a broad head will work. For straighter extra tall vases I like to have long, thin, and straight flowers like lilies. For bowl vases large flowers that have a open bloom such as a peony or gardenias look amazing.

5. Why stop at flowers, add some greenery or baby’s breathe to your arrangement for that extra added touch.

Whatever flower you decide to decorate with there are many places to find discount glass vases to experiment with. Some of my favorite places to find decently priced vases are flower vases or Bellacor.
